Allamah Tabatayi says:
Cleaning the house means to pure it and make the Kaaba special for worshiping , upholding Hajj rituals and to conduct a worshiping ritual which would be purely for God, without attributing a partner for him or doubting his unity.
Therefore, cleansing Godâs house means abolishing the spiritual impurnesses of the house and preserving its sanctity. Prophet Ibrahim (a) had the mission to teach the manners of worship without the impurities of polytheism.
Imam Sadiq (a) has interpreted this verse, “And the servant should not enter Mecca unless he is pure, has washed his sweat and malignancies and has become pure/clean†it can be understood from this hadith that purifying oneâs self means to clean his self from impurities and filth. The word “should†has been mentioned as a recommendation to enter Mecca in a clean and pure state in order to respect its honor.
